project basics

Artificial Deity Project is an IP we developed – a huge world that contains multiple stories.

And ADP: The Mansion by the Sea is one small story set within this universe that is told through a sidescroller game!

On an abstract layer, the game is about ambiguity and how to endure it.

On a more tangible one, it’s about an undead human trying to find a cure for their undead state and having to deal with the fact, that it might not be possible.

pre-production art

After working on the worldbuilding and overarching storyline for the Artificial Deity Project IP, Franziska van Wulfen and I decided to focus on a small part of the world that our game would take place in: the harbour town.

Together, we set out to design a formerly picturesque but dying town that is inhabited by people who cover up their decaying flesh.

These were very quick iterations I did to visualize how our dialogue view and choice selection could work and look like.
